As I often like to state publicly, those mean, nasty, scary, oh so dangerous, terrorists are responsible for an average of somewhat less than 300 American deaths per year over the last decade..
(2,752 / 10 years = 275.2) < I might add 13 (/ 10) to this for Hasan
This is enough, apparently, to justify more than a decade of warfare as well as more than a trillion dollars in spending (financed by debt).
Come on.. we have lost going on twice that many American lives now in "the war on terror" itself.. And that's not to mention 104,000 to 114,000 innocent Iraqi civilian deaths since the war there began.
So why then do we have so many more things that kill so many more Americans that are completely ignored?
100,000 Americans Die Each Year from Prescription Drugs, While Pharma Companies Get Rich
Alcohol linked to 75,000 U.S. deaths a year
Car Crashes Kill 40,000 in U.S. Every Year
Here are the 2010 numbers for violent crimes - murder and rape in the USA (from United States Crime Rates 1960 - 2010)
Violent crimes = 1,246,248
Murders = 14,748
Rapes = 84,767
Hell.. here are how many people, on average, die from falling off a ladder each year in the USA..
Answer:
At least 30,000 are hurt each year, and 6000 die.
We brag about the safety of flying by commercial airlines, but in reality the difference in your chance of dying while flying, as compared to dying from a terrorist attack, are statistically insignificant..
You are MUCH more likely to be murdered by your neighbor than you are by a Muslim terrorist..
Obviously many more people realize now than ever before that our government frequently uses fear to enable them to do many things that would otherwise not be tolerated in America.
Wake up America.. the war on terror, drugs, poverty are anything but..
The full on assault on our freedom and liberty continues unabated..
Ron Paul "gets it" and that's why I urge you to seriously consider supporting the only serious candidate running for election this year.
