By Susan Redden news@joplinglobe.com The Joplin Globe Thu Apr 28, 2011, 10:03 PM CDT

CARTHAGE, Mo. — The standoff between Sheriff Archie Dunn and the Jasper County Commission continued Thursday, with commissioners phoning their counterparts in area counties to tell them no money had been budgeted for housing overflow inmates from the county jail elsewhere.

No more inmates have been moved beyond the 40 who were relocated as of midafternoon Wednesday, but Dunn said more transfers are planned.

“We’ve been checking for available beds; our count is down to 188 inmates,” he said. He has said the jail was designed for a capacity of 153 inmates.

Dunn said he was not concerned about contacts the commission was making regarding reimbursements for inmate housing costs. But he said he sent a copy of the presentation he made Tuesday to the commission to Sheriff Ron Peckham in Vernon County, after questions were raised about the 20 inmates who were moved there.

Peckham said he wanted to discuss the issue with the county prosecutor before commenting, but the Globe’s efforts to reach Peckham later in the day Thursday were unsuccessful.

Bonnie McCord, presiding commissioner in Vernon County, said she alerted the prosecutor and the sheriff after getting a call from Darieus Adams, Western District associate commissioner in Jasper County.

“We wanted to make sure the sheriff was aware of this,” she said. “We don’t have funds to house another entity’s inmates without being reimbursed for it.”

John Bartosh, presiding Jasper County commissioner, said the panel was attempting to find out how many inmates had been transferred, and where, but Dunn had not responded to his emailed question.

Bartosh said he hand-delivered a letter to Dunn’s office on Wednesday, saying inmate transfers planned by Dunn could cost the county $100,000 per month, and that expenses would have to be approved by the county auditor. The letter said the commissioners “will not condone nor pay for a taxpayer-funded room and board plan.”

Extended Unemployment is the Socialism

---

It's painfully obvious, to me, what extended unemployment checks are about. It's NOT about helping you put food on your table or some grand "humanitarian mission".

If it had stopped long ago, or were it to stop now, consumer loan defaults would skyrocket..

Corporate bankruptcies

[More] Bank failures

The collapse of teetering insurance and health care industries

A collapse of student loans

Forget about housing.. it's dead already..

A collapse in revenue for everyone up the food chain all the way to Washington

In the local paper here I have been seeing layoffs increase lately. freeman Hospital and I saw a week or so ago Tyson is letting go 10% of their work force in Kansas.

Unemployment claims jumped (surely unexpectedly lol) just this week and not looking good for the last three weeks.

Dollar is making new lows, markets, metals and commodities making new highs.

I'm telling you this looks like some sort of bomb to me.. And, to me, it looks like it could go off any time now..

In the mean time, I'm thinking about getting a day job just for the guarantee of a lifetime income! LMAO

So how long CAN government and the FED / Central Bankers keep all of this artificially propped up?

Longer than *I* thought for sure..

Greg

There R many more out there who, as I humbly try my best to do, speak the #truth..

Food and Energy Inflation is NOT Transitory - #NIA

Food and Energy Inflation is Not Transitory

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke on Wednesday held his first press conference in history. The press conference took place shortly after the Fed announced its decision to leave the Fed Funds Rate at a record low of 0% to 0.25%, where it has been for an unprecedented 28 months. The U.S. economy is flooded with U.S. dollars and is close to overdosing on excess liquidity. The fact that our financial markets are not falling on the possibility of the Fed not unleashing QE3 immediately at the end of QE2, shows that we could be on the verge of hyperinflation with or without QE3.

The Federal Reserve currently has a mandate of both maintaining price stability and facilitating job creation. However, central banks don't have the ability to create real employment. If any jobs happen to be created as a result of a central bank's policies, they are only temporary jobs created due to the errors and distortions of phony asset bubbles. All phony asset bubbles that are fueled by monetary inflation eventually burst, sending unemployment through the roof.

Almost every major central bank besides the Federal Reserve, understands the truth about job creation, and has a mandate that focuses solely on keeping price inflation low. The Bank of Japan, Swiss National Bank, Bank of Canada, and Bank of New Zealand, all have mandates that are entirely about low inflation and don't even mention the creation of jobs or the rate of employment. Bernanke said on Wednesday that, "while it is very, very important for us to try to help the economy create jobs and to support the recovery, I think every central banker understands that keeping inflation low and stable is absolutely essential to a successful economy."

Bernanke has decided to go down a route that no central banker has ever gone before. Bernanke has literally invented countless ways to create inflation that nobody else has ever thought of. If keeping inflation low was ever Bernanke's slightest concern, the Fed Funds Rate would currently be north of 5% and the U.S. economy would be in a steep recession. Bernanke has never once thought about keeping inflation low. He has literally implemented every measure he could possibly think of to create as much inflation as possible, while outright lying to the American public and saying that he isn't printing money and that inflation is under control.

Bernanke would like the public to believe that his policies of expanding the money supply through cheap and easy money will cause the U.S. economy to recover and unemployment to decline back to pre-crisis levels, and that right before price inflation spirals out of control, he can raise interest rates and prevent massive price inflation without disrupting the recovery. Unfortunately, this is impossible because the recovery isn't real and massive price inflation is already here. Bernanke's policies may have created 1 million artificial jobs since December of 2009, after 8.75 million jobs were lost in the previous two years, but he did this at the expense of 310 million Americans already seeing double-digit percentage increases in food and energy prices.

Since after the Real Estate bubble burst in late-2008, the primary economic concern of Americans has been finding a stable job in order to make mortgage payments and put food on the table. Under the pressure of Congress, the Fed printed enough money to prevent a much needed recession that would be healthy for the long-term U.S. economy. In its attempt to reinflate the Real Estate bubble, the Fed has been destroying the free market and creating new economic distortions, which caused an artificial bounce in the rate of employment. Unfortunately, when you add together the money the Fed has either printed or committed for bailouts and stimulus programs, over $4 million has been spent for each job created. The Fed would have been better off just crediting the bank accounts of unemployed Americans with the average U.S. income.

When asked about rising gas prices, NIA is very happy that Chairman Bernanke acknowledged that gas prices "have risen quite significantly" and are "creating a great deal of financial hardship for a lot of people". Bernanke admitted that gas is a "necessity" as "people need to drive to work" for the artificial jobs Bernanke created at a cost of $4 million per job. However, Bernanke seemed to be confused when he said "higher gas prices add to inflation". The truth is, Bernanke's zero percent interest rates and quantitative easing are the inflation, and inflation leads to higher gas prices.

Bernanke is directly responsible for gas prices rising back to $3.87 per gallon, yet refuses to admit it. Bernanke placed the blame on the growing global and emerging market economies, and their strong demand for oil. He said that America's demand for oil is going down, which NIA believes is actually due to the U.S. dollar losing its purchasing power and Americans seeing their standard of living decline. Bernanke said there is nothing that he can do about rising oil and gas prices "without derailing growth entirely". The truth is, Bernanke already derailed growth entirely when he derailed the free market. It is impossible to see real economic growth when a government and central bank is interfering in every aspect of the economy and impeding the free market in every possible way. All nominal GDP growth in the U.S., along with growth in retail sales, is solely due to inflation. Even when the government adjusts GDP and retail sales growth to the rate of inflation, it is based off of the consumer price index, which NIA believes is currently understating price inflation by approximately 4%.

Although Bernanke denies he has the ability to reduce gas prices, he claims he can prevent "gas prices from passing into other prices and wages throughout the economy and creating a broader inflation which will be much more difficult to extinguish." Bernanke obviously doesn't want Americans to see higher wages because he believes it could lead to broader inflation, but NIA believes rising wages would be a good thing. Inflation hurts Americans most when the rate of inflation is far outpacing wage increases. The fact is, the U.S. is already experiencing broad inflation even without wage increases.

Bernanke's brand new favorite word as of late seems to be "transitory", which he used about a dozen times during his press conference. Despite what Bernanke says, NIA strongly believes that rising food and gas prices are not transitory. Bernanke likes the word "transitory" because he can use it to try and pretend that rising food and gas prices are only just a temporary phenomenon and that their current high levels aren't here to stay. Many Americans can remember the day 40 years ago when a can of Coca-Cola cost a dime and a Hershey chocolate bar cost a nickel, with a gallon of gas back then costing only thirty-five cents. Have rising food and gas prices over the past four decades been transitory?

NIA first predicted two years ago in its documentary 'Hyperinflation Nation', that rising food and gas prices would soon become the primary concern of all American citizens as a result of the Fed's dangerous and destructive monetary policies. Bernanke back then claimed that inflation would not be a problem and said that the U.S. risked deflation. If Bernanke has been so wrong about the inflation that Americans are faced with today, NIA doesn't see how anybody can possibly believe that Bernanke will be right and that current high food and gas prices aren't here to stay. In our opinion, the food and gas price inflation that Americans have experienced over the past 40 years, is likely to occur all over again during the next 4 years. NIA believes that 4 years from now, Americans will look back at the good old days of having cheap $4 a gallon gas.

The last thing the U.S. government wants is for the American public to realize that Bernanke is responsible for rising food and gas prices. If the public demanded to end the Federal Reserve, the government will no longer be able to spend recklessly knowing that the Fed will be there to monetize their deficit spending. In an attempt to make up excuses for rising gas prices and deflect attention away from the Fed, Congress has been pressuring the U.S. Attorney General to investigate the matter. Attorney General Eric Holder just announced the formation of the Oil & Gas Price Fraud Working Group. The stated purpose of this working group is to monitor the oil and gas markets for potential violations of criminal or civil laws to safeguard against unlawful consumer harm.

NIA considers this to be complete insanity. Any government interference in the oil markets will only drive oil prices up even higher. Oil prices are rising solely do to supply and demand. Demand is going through the roof because the Federal Reserve is creating a lot of inflation, and inflation always gravitates to the goods that Americans need the most to live and survive. Oil supplies are falling because President Obama has ordered U.S. troops to occupy Libya. In the past we at least made up excuses to invade countries like Iraq over oil by claiming they had weapons of mass destruction. Today, the U.S. government doesn't even bother. Obama campaigned as an anti-war President, saying he would bring our troops home from the middle-east. Instead, he has increased our middle-east troop levels, and the sheep who voted for him are showing absolutely no signs of outrage.

It is important to spread the word about NIA to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, if you want America to survive hyperinflation. Please tell everybody you know to become members of NIA for free immediately at: http://inflation.us

Anunnaki & Nibiru - The Return
A PUFOIN Commentary
By John Jaeger

An ongoing interest and debate has been Planet X. This allusive planet has been linked to the myths of the Sumerian Tablets, which speak of the returning of Nibiru (a mythical planet said to visit our solar system once very 3600 years due to its elliptical orbit). Nibiru is said to be the home of our forefathers; the original creators of the Human race; the gods of the Old Testament. Is Nibiru real? The writings of the Sumerian Tablets as translated by Zachariah Sitchin and pre-date any known written history, seem to suggest that it is.

Many current day "seers" and "self-proclaimed emissaries of Alien Beings" preach about the coming events, which will include major Earth changes. I'm sure that even without a degree in Rocket Science, any of us can understand just how the arrival of a planetary sized object would impact the forces being applied against this planet, would have a major impact. Of late, we're seeing our weather patterns change; major earthquakes reaching 9.0; storm of the century - every other week (or so it would seem) and let's not forget the sudden increase in activity of volcano's.

The question of Alien existence is still merely a question. Through out the ages, proof has existed to support Alien interaction in our development and progress. Cave drawings; Ancient Hieroglyphics; mid-evil paintings - all show what we've come to identify as the stereotypical saucer or cigar shaped UFO's. We can't deny that these exist and seem to represent something extraordinary.

A study of the myths in the Bible also reveal many interesting discoveries. The issue can certainly be debated until we're all long gone but it would appear that the stories of the Bible, written around 200 BCE, are actually a re-telling of stories from much earlier on - thousands of years earlier! The Sumerian's documented the stories of the Bible in the third millennium BCE! Their stories offer some of the best accounts of our creation and the events of early Mesopotamia. Yet, our Religion-based society continues to propagate the rewriting of our history for its own means.

There is no secret that the canonized version of the Bible from Constantine's' day has left out many relative books. The Gnostics; Book of Thomas; etc., were not represented because they were either not available at the time OR they contradicted the message Constantine wished to deliver to solidify his rule as Emperor. If you compare the various Christian religions you'll find that different versions of the Bible are used. Some have incorporated the "found books" while others continue to ignore their existence and suggest that they are not legitimate.

Now, consider this. What "if" the events of the Bible are more-or-less true. What "if" the events in the Old and New Testaments really did happen pretty much along the lines we're told they did but... much earlier!

There is significant proof to date the Pyramids to around 11,000 BCE for their construction. Certainly, with our technology of today we could build such monuments to the precision of these great structures - but... what about back in 11,000 BCE? The Humans of the Bible were farmers and Shepard's. The technology didn't exist to create such structures. Now, look at the Maya and their Calendar. Their understanding of astronomy and astrology far exceeded their ability to understand the stars yet they provided us with a calendar, which has been exacting. The examples of technology exist through out our history yet scholars often refuse to consider this when putting together their thesis or journals. It isn't mainstream science, thus it would bring way too much attention and critique and essentially ruin their career. But why?

Anyone with a computer can research these facts on their own and come to their own conclusions. Anyone with common sense can objectively examine the facts and determine that "we're not in Kansas anymore". By exploring these facts, we change everything we've ever believed in. We start to question our faith. We have to because what we've been taught isn't what really happened. Most lies are based in truth at some point. Often, good intentions turn sour. Now, add thousands of years into the mix and you'll find an alarming trend of using Religion to control. Fearing God (yet God is good, right? He cares about us and our well-being, right?) and tossing around the Devil has kept Religious leaders in power and often carved the way for Kings to reach a status of divinity among his subjects.

The fact is, if you research you'll find that the events of the Bible just don't add up with the time these events are said to have occurred.

Next, one must consider that the stories of Jesus are a retelling of Pagan myth. Osiris was also a man-god who was born of a virgin and carried out miracles (which by the way closely parallel those of Jesus nearly word-for-word). If you consider that the Pagan's worshipped many gods and that this belief system dates back long before the Biblical times, the stories of the Sumerian Tablets start to take on a whole new meaning.

In the Sumerian Tablets, the story of Creation and the Garden of Eden are shared. The Great Flood is also a favorite written in the tablets. These stories aren't changed all that much when represented in the Bible - however, they are manipulated. The Sumerian Tablets tell of the Anunnaki; a race of beings from Nibiru who created Humans by taking the indigenous beings on Earth and splicing their own DNA with that of the Aliens. The Anunnaki were greatly advanced beings and created the great monuments found on the Earth; Moon; Mars and other solid planets/moons within our corner of the Universe.

The purpose for creating Humans is also written in the Tablets. Humans were created to be servants of the gods. Many would have called the early humans, slaves. We were used to mine precious minerals such as gold. Still to this day, gold is considered a highly sought after mineral. Researching the Sumerian tablets will also tell you reasons for this unique status of gold.

So, what about the Bible and the stories in the Bible? Are they fake? The answer to that will unfold over time, however it is most likely that these events were real at their core. Even the stories of Jesus, were real. They just didn't occur when we think they did. If you consider the speculative orbit of Nibiru and the suggested 3600 year cycle, we can begin to establish a time-line for these events. First we must be careful not to deviate from what has already been written in our earliest documents (the Sumerian Tablets). We can extrapolate based on this information but we must stay relatively true to the core or else our own references will be just as flawed as the Bible.

We know that the Pyramids were built around 11,000 BCE. That means the Anunnaki must have been already here around that time. Considering that the cycle of Nibiru is this 3600 year cycle, we must conclude that anyone left here was stuck here until the next cycle. We are told that the gods had long lives but it doesn't seem imaginable that their lives would last the full cycle of Nibiru. So, we must then factor in the length of time that Nibiru would be accessible from Earth during its orbit. It has been suggested that the planet would only be visible for a few months but the length of time that it would be accessible might be years if not hundreds of years. Any advanced culture capable of creating hybrids would be seen as gods to their creations. We have that technology today. We mix-breed animals to create animals with special traits; colors or behaviors. We mix-breed plants. We're on the edge of cloning. So, the idea isn't so crazy when you consider these things today vs. even 100 years or less, ago.

We must also then consider that there are other beings than just the Anunnaki roaming the Universe. But that is a discussion for another PUFOIN Perspective.

Now, taking in the orbit of Nibiru and the fact that there were and still may be, alien outposts on Mars and the Moon, we can begin to paint a picture of the events as described in the Bible. Many have questioned the "virgin birth". Why is this so difficult a concept to accept? We have the technology to impregnate a female who has never experienced intercourse. So, right away, the idea of a virgin birth has to be considered plausible based on our own level of technology, today.

If this birth were between an advanced being and a Human, the offspring might have some advanced abilities. Even if the offspring didn't, the ability of the "father" who IS an advanced being could give that impression should he intervene on behalf of the son. Actually, all of the events spoken of about Osiris/Jesus persona could actually be factual. To the people of the time, simple things we take for granted today would seem like miracles.

The true problem rests with our version of the Bible. We singularize the gods. One must consider though that the "god" of the Old Testament isn't the same god of the New Testament. A simple review of the Bible will help to identify this. One god ruled with an iron fist. The other, with mercy and compassion. There is no doubt that a power struggle would occur between the gods. If we are indeed offspring of these beings, then we are the best evidence of this. Thus, it would make sense that there would be "groups" of gods who would have told their servants to honor no other god but himself. It makes sense that this would be the cause for suddenly making the Pagan plurality of gods into the Jewish and Christian singularity of God.

The study of the Pagan beliefs is truly fascinating. It must be studied with an open-mind because the idea of these deities is so foreign to the common belief system it becomes difficult to absorb.

Next we must consider the myths, which speak of the return of Jesus. Now, if you take into context the alien equation, the idea of a returning god is not so far-fetched. If the gods are truly on this 3600 year cycle, it would make sense that they've left and will return. It is also plausible that during this time we've had interaction with other alien beings who do not support the Anunnaki. The question of whether the Anunnaki are friend or foe can be debated. If we were created to be subjects of the gods, it would make sense that we wouldn't wish to be their slaves when they return. The idea of other aliens interacting within our society may be to provide us with advancements so that our awareness level would be high enough to understand the threat and our technology would be advanced enough to provide us with a means of defense.

The question of time-travel must also be called into the equation because of the suggestion of future events. Interestingly, the Bible is an excellent source of what is to come. Unfortunately, we don't often understand this until the events have come to pass. Could the Anunnaki have the ability to travel through time? Well, while they "could" it seems unlikely because if that were the case, they'd be able to know about our advancements. It seems much more likely that other alien beings are more advanced than the Anunnaki and shared these future events. These aliens were the "angels" who came to Daniel and John. They planted the seed of warning in an effort to help guide us along a path, which would allow us to advance in our understanding; our awareness of our place in the Universe and in our technology. We advance quickly when we use cooperation. The Bible prophecies speak of this oneness within our nature and the need for us to get along and work together. Obviously, these prophets knew that the only way for us to advance in the time allotted was to get us to "play nicely" with one another. How better to do this than to write a code of ethics (of sorts) for us to live by.

So, what if all of this speculation is true? What if we were created to be slaves? What if we are waiting for the return of the gods? What next? When?

Well, many of the Native American prophecies tend to point to the year 2012. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012. The Hopi Prophecy Rock points to a certain path we must travel, etc. The Inca prophecies also point to around 2012. They speak of the coming of the next density of existence. We've been able to extrapolate that this will be a time of ascension. This ascension isn't too dissimilar to the "catching up" or the "rapture" as spoken of in the Bible. Those who've become spiritually awakened (aware of their place in the Universe) will ascend into the next plain of existence. Those who are still bound by the ways of the creators and the materialistic world will be left to see the return of the Anunnaki (the end of their 3600 year cycle). These people will see great changes in the Earth because of the influence of Nibiru. They will also see great battles between the Anunnaki and the Humans of Earth. The prediction of 1000 years of peace may only come about at the hands of the benevolent alien beings currently helping us to advance our level of technology.

It would make sense that we will see huge advancements over the next few years as we approach this 2012 deadline. It would also make sense to consider that anytime from now through 2012 that the Anunnaki may be close enough to actually travel in ships to Earth in limited numbers. It would make sense for them to assume that not much has changed since their previous visit. To those who come in advance of their planet, their discoveries may be quite unique. It may even be an Anunnaki who is the "anti-Christ". It would make sense that the Anunnaki would choose the region of former Mesopotamia (modern Iraq) for their return. The predictions speak of the anti-Christ coming from this region and gaining power in the European Union. It speaks of nations coming against Israel.

On a side note, it adds a new light to why the United States and its allies chose to attack Iraq at this time in our history. Are they perhaps preparing for the return of the Anunnaki?

Our nations are working on space based initiatives for planetary defense. Ronald Reagan spoke of threats from outside of this world in one of his speeches. He was the first to suggest a space based missile system (Star Wars). It would seem that our Government's are already interacting with Aliens. Look at the advancement in our technology over the past 100 years. Are we being prepped for Armageddon?

There will be many view points on similar topics. There will be many who agree and many who disagree. In the end, only the reader can choose to explore for his/herself or continue to stand true to his/her faith and trust in the authority of their Church. It would be sad for people to not explore the role of Religion in controlling the population. It would be sad for people to not explore the way the various Churches have changed their doctrine to stay modern with the times. The RC Church said that the Earth was the center of the Universe and threatened early scientists who offered proof of the contrary. The RC Church now admits that Evolution is more than just a theory and accepts it as a more plausible means than Intelligent Design - yet, in the scenario explained above, the Intelligent Design is actually a fact!! How can anyone stand true to Religion when it continues to change its doctrine? If Religion were unyielding and thus supported by the science, that fortitude to stay true to Religion would be understandable. Unfortunately, science and Religion do not stand together and the only thing bending is Religion.

As spiritual people, we need to have a faith system. We rely upon our faith to help us through tough times. We pray to God to help us. What if the being that is helping us isn't the God we're praying to but rather, a galactic consciousness intervening on our behalf? What if it is simply coincidence? Again, the theories can abound but the facts can not so easily be dismissed by those who are enlightened and want to know more.

Are we in the end-times? That is merely a matter of personal perception. The Earth isn't going to end in 2012 and neither is life. If the Anunnaki are an advanced race and if they return in 2012 en masse, civilization as we know it may change forever. Look at the events of the past and the cycle of these events. It is pretty likely that the fall of the advanced civilizations will in most cases correlate with the cycle of the Anunnaki. Look at Egypt; Atlantis and other great early cultures. What happened to them? Where did they go? Were they becoming too advanced and a threat to the Annunaki? Did those with an understanding of their place in the universe ascend leaving only the materialistic individuals to service the gods? Have we advanced far enough in this phase of existence to be enough of a challenge to the Anunnaki?

I liked it because I find this particular subject to be very fascinating.. Numbers are truly cool things.. If only one half of 1% of the American citizenry get totally FED up and decide to do something about it you're talking about 1.5 MILLION pissed off Americans..

The question I have is how can the military and police maintain martial law in America for an extended period of time during an economic collapse or crisis? Mathematically it is impossible i will explain. I wrote this months ago in response to CD's article if the military would shoot American cititzens.

If there is a major crisis that sends the entire country into chaos, it would highly unlikely that the U.S. military will be able to enforce a lock-down of the entire nation.

Even if the military manages to acquire all 1.5 million reserves and utilize 1 million of it's total 1.5 million personnel in the Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard, it would struggle to control 308-310 million citizens in a land mass of 9,161,966 sq km.

You can confirm these numbers by looking at the U.S. Census or CIA World fact book.

Even this scenario is incredibly optimistic, because it assumes that 100% of the national guard and Army reserves will show up when the dollar has crash and they're worried about their families. The 1.5 million number doesn't even factor in the fact that many of these people are overseas fighting (in Iraq and Afghanistan) and serving on one of the 700 military bases in 130 foreign countries. So if the dollar collapses and the nation erupts into chaos, will the military be able to ship them home quick enough? I doubt. Now many have said "Well what about the fusion centers and local and state police?"

First of all, American law enforcement numbers are not as strong as some of you think. According to the BLS (bureau of Labor Statistics), there were only 883,600 law enforcement personnel in 2008. And that was before the financial collapse and subsequent layoffs in local departments across the nation. The number included detectives, managers, police and sheriff's patrol officers.

So when you add the 2,500,000 soldiers and the 883,000 law enforcement, you have a force of 3.3 million agents. This is less than one percent of America's highly-armed population. Most of these agents will be working logistics and support for handling prisoners, transportation, intelligence and supply. But this isn't even the biggest problem.

The police are used to dealing with people who are afraid of them and have something to lose. In a collapse scenario, the rioters will lack both characteristics. And the military will be poorly suited to police a populace that is desperation for resources. If the soldiers became violent against the population, they could divide the armed forces and spark a civil war. Moreover, Iraq and Afghanistan has shown us that the U.S. military is not invisible and that guerrilla warfare tactics can be deployed successfully against a high-tech army. It would be very difficult for the U.S. military to successfully implement martial law throughout the entire country at any given time. This would mean that they would have to secure hundred of thousands of neighborhoods, while securing all major airports, power stations, communication towers, water facilities, nuclear power plants, military bases, food distribution center, grocery stores, government official buildings and highways while keeping everyone in their homes after 6pm.

Bringing in foreign troops would problematic, because if the U.S. is in a panic, wouldn't the other countries that are so heavily tied to America also have their own problems. Plus, we know how well foreign occupations went in Afghanistan, Vietnam and Iraq.

In conclusion, a military lock-down of the entire country at any given time would be impossible with the assistance of foreign troops. Adding foreign troops would increase the manpower, but severely damage the credibility of the force. Such a situation would encourage more violence against the martial law force. The U.S. government may attempt to lock the country down, but it would end in failure and possibility set the stage for a civil war. Many people assume that the population's current malaise will mean little resistance to martial law, but they fail to understand human nature. If there is a crisis situation, your biggest danger maybe the people around you.

The Economic Collapse
April 25, 2011

The U.S. economy is dying and we are heading for the next Great Depression. The talking heads in the mainstream media love to spin the economic numbers around and around and they love to make it sound like the economy is improving, but the truth is that it doesn’t take a genius to see what is happening to the U.S. economic system. All over the nation many of our greatest cities are being slowly but surely transformed into post-apocalyptic wastelands. All over the mid-Atlantic, all along the Gulf coast, all throughout the “rust belt” and all over the entire state of California cities that once had incredibly vibrant economies are being turned into rotting, post-industrial hellholes. In many U.S. cities, the “real” rate of unemployment is over 30 percent. There are some communities that will start depressing you almost the moment that you drive into them. It is almost as if all of the hope has been sucked right out of those communities. If you live in one of those American hellholes you know what I am talking about. Sadly, it is not just a few cities that are becoming hellholes. This is happening in the east, in the west, in the north and in the south. America is literally being transformed right in front of our eyes.

If you still live in an area of the United States that is prosperous, do not mock the cities that you are about to read about. The cold, hard reality of the matter is that economic decline and economic despair are spreading rapidly and they will come to your area soon enough. Right now we are still talking about “American hellholes”, but if the long-term economic trends that are destroying this nation are not turned around eventually we will just be talking about one gigantic “American hellhole”. In the end, no area of the country will completely escape the economic hell that is coming.

Let’s take a closer look at what is currently happening in some of the worst areas of the country….

Obama orders probe of rising gas prices - I AM your alternative News source!

---
I have grabbed a few "excerpts" from this AP story that I wish to talk about a little.. A link to the full story is provided at the bottom of this post..
---

LOS ANGELES (AP) — President Barack Obama said Thursday that the Justice Department will try to "root out" cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets, even as Attorney General Eric Holder suggested a variety of legal reasons may be behind gasoline's surge to $4 a gallon.

"We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain," Obama said at a town-hall style meeting at a renewable energy plant in Reno, Nev.

---
"root out" cases of fraud or manipulation in oil markets?!

"We are going to make sure that no one is taking advantage of the American people for their own short-term gain,"?!

WTF?!

Here is some "alternative news" for you and I'm more than happy to bring it to your attention!

"But the true perpetrator of higher oil prices, the Federal Reserve, stands right in front of us, the smoking gun its easy money policies. As I wrote last November, what is making today’s higher oil and gasoline prices inevitable is the debasement of the dollar."

Angry Over Oil Price? Demand A Change In Fed Policy

Get f'ing real obama!

Federal Reserve Causes Middle East Unrest! Massive Worldwide Famine Caused by QE! [Video]

So WHERE is this so called manipulation? And exactly WHO is it that is taking advantage of not only American citizens but all citizens of the world?! The Federal Reserve Bank!
---

Obama, decrying such levels as yet another hardship "at a time when things were already pretty tough," said Holder was forming the Financial Fraud Enforcement Working Group.

---
AND the FIRST place they need to LOOK for FRAUD and MANIPULATION is AT the Federal Reserve Bank!
---

The task force will focus some of its investigation on "the role of traders and speculators" in the oil-price surge, Obama said, and will include several Cabinet department officials, federal regulators and the National Association of Attorneys General.

---
"the role of traders and speculators" in the oil-price surge?! People you MUST understand that traders are no different from anyone else with a f'ing JOB!

Speculators BASE their trades in commodities on the POLICIES of the United States government and the Federal Reserve Bank!
---

In Washington, Holder said he would press ahead with the investigation, even though he did not cite any current evidence of intentional manipulation of oil and gas prices or fraud.

---

He promised to "be vigilant in monitoring the oil and gas markets for any wrongdoing so that consumers can be confident they are not paying higher prices as a result of illegal activity."

---

---
HERE IS your "manipulation of oil and gas prices AND fraud AND ILLEGAL ACTIVITY"!

Debasing the Dollar
---

There's not much Obama can do to affect the price of gasoline in short term, something he acknowledged in his remarks. Gas prices have risen steadily as a result of tensions in the Middle East and northern Africa and rising demand from China and other emerging economies.

Given that no evidence has yet surfaced of actual fraud or price manipulation in oil markets, Obama's remarks appeared, at least in part, as more of an attempt to assuage public anger over rising gas prices.

Other presidents have also launched similar inquiries at times of rising oil prices and widespread public suspicions of market manipulation by the oil industry or by speculators.

---

---
Higher oil prices?

"tensions in the Middle East and northern Africa and rising demand from China and other emerging economies"

"Given that no evidence has yet surfaced of actual fraud or price manipulation in oil markets"

"widespread public suspicions of market manipulation by the oil industry or by speculators"

Talk about the corporate OWNED media COVERING up a story! Not ONE mention here of the Federal Reserve Bank LED by Helicopter Ben Bernanke!

Is the Federal Reserve Bank CREATING an excuse for QE3?
---

In an Associated Press-Gfk poll last month, 51 percent of adults said they thought recent increases in gas prices were due to "oil companies that want to boost profits" rather than changes in the global oil market. Nine percent said higher prices stemmed from a combination of both, 37 percent from changes in the market.

Blast from the past - Major Hasan - Fort Hood & Some Thoughts

Obama: don't jump to conclusion on Fort Hood shooting

(Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama urged Americans on Friday not to jump to conclusions on the motive behind the mass shooting at the sprawling Fort Hood army base in Texas.

"We don't know all the answers yet and I would caution against jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts," he said.

Obama also said he had met on Friday with officials including FBI Director Robert Mueller.

No matter the "crisis" the same bullshit Standard Operating Procedure is used by our government.. Always..

Whether it is the economic "crisis" / economy, TARP, banks, unemployment, foreclosures, war, oil spill, WikiLeaks, Japan, nuclear disaster, national debt / deficit, immigration, abortion, gay "rights", civil "rights", animal "rights", children's "rights", entitlements the "technique" is to ignore, to marginalize, to push back in time. To leak news ever so slowly to the public over a very long period of time..

Justice delayed is justice avoided it seems..

The corporate owned, complicit media gleefully play along quoting "expert" after "expert" on both sides of every story to confuse the issue, whatever it might be.

So why IS the game "played" this way?

In a word.. Politics..

It seems to me that our society / culture has become nothing more than one rather large, unruly political game. A game in which we, the people, are merely pawns to be manipulated by political parties using the "issues" of the day..

Until we, the people, change this we will be forever doomed to the status quo, political "gamesmanship", political "drama", political "theater".

And nothing will change at all..

Unemployed? Broke? HowTo: Execute your own Ponzi Scheme!

---
Please note that I Gregory Phillips am NOT a registered financial adviser nor do I offer legal advice. Please see disclaimer at the bottom of blog.
---

Seeing as how ponzi scheme's seem to be all the rage these days with no repercussions at all why shouldn't individual American citizens execute their own ponzi plans?

I mean since the Federal Reserve Bank is even involved in a ponzi scheme right before everyone's eyes, with the blessing of the United States government, why is it not also a good enough plan for the many struggling American families in our debt based ponzi scheme driven economy?

How to legally employ your own ponzi scheme in these toughest of economic times:

If you find yourself unemployed and seemingly less and less likely to be able to find a job and are sincerely worried about the welfare of yourself and your family then just do what the United States government does..

Borrow money that you KNOW you will NEVER be able to repay, forever..

The elite bankers attempt to use shame to keep consumers in line even to the point of sacrificing the well being of their own family to pay back loans of completely worthless fiat currency (paper backed by.. more paper).

shame (shm)
n.
1.
a. A painful emotion caused by a strong sense of guilt, embarrassment, unworthiness, or disgrace.
b. Capacity for such a feeling: Have you no shame?
2. One that brings dishonor, disgrace, or condemnation.
3. A condition of disgrace or dishonor; ignominy.
4. A great disappointment.

Shame these days is not nearly as in vogue as it once was in America anyway.. So just forget that.. It's really meaningless. I mean doing what I am about to suggest will ruin your credit.. But most likely if you find yourself in a position to consider it then your credit is likely already ruined.. Plus.. isn't it credit that got you into this mess in the first place? Spending money you didn't have for things you didn't need?

So I'm merely suggesting you instead use borrowed money for the things you do need.. Food, utilities, clothing, whatever it might be..

Whether you will be able to pay back this money is of little concern as we can see in the upcoming vote to raise of the United States debt limit by congress in the near future..

Our own uncle, Sam, is currently borrowing 40% of every single dollar they spend so I fail to see why YOU should feel ashamed to do the same thing..

The ponzi trick is to obtain as much NEW credit as you possibly can NOW. Combine this with any existing credit you have to allow yourself as large a credit line as is possible. The interest rate charged is of no concern at all.. In fact, the higher the interest is the faster you will be able to accumulate consumer debt and hence the faster you can file for bankruptcy to get out from under everything you, so-called, owe.

Then just use this credit to support yourself and your family.. Hell go on a well deserved relaxing vacation if you like.. Why not?

You can escalate [ponzi] this borrowing as long as possible to buy the things you need just as if you had real money (even though having real money isn't real money if it is of the paper variety.. Only tangible [real] assets have real value. Gold, silver, land, food, guns, etc).

Once the bankers cut off your credit (and they eventually WILL do so) just use the accumulated debt to file for bankruptcy (again no shame, GM did it, AIG did it, the banks did it, Fannie and Freddie did it, etc).

Just make SURE when you do file for bankruptcy that you file ONLY chapter 7 and NOT chapter 13.. Bankruptcy laws were changed, by congress, in 2005 to make filing more difficult in an attempt to help the banks recoup as much money as possible from the debt slaves they had driven to ruin.

Bankruptcy will dissolve, FREE you from, the great majority of your accumulated debt with the exception of taxes and the student loan debt trap..

So, fight back! Enjoy yourself! Just live like the United States government, the Federal Reserve Bank and major corporations do!

Central Banks Inflate Food Prices

Soaring food prices are driving protests by desperate people in Tunisia, Egypt, and elsewhere. Predatory commodity futures speculators and mega-banks blew up this most recent price bubble; and people fearful of currency inflation cached food supplies, resulting in shortages.

This left average and poor people sqeezed between inflationary devaluation of currencies (loss of purchasing power), and prices spiraling up. The video below shows Bernanke again refusing to take any responsibility for the latest price bubble hitting world economies hard. But analyst Bill Fleckenstein gives details of government and central bank collusion with financial predators at the expense of everyone else. Chart shows what I was watching on EURUSD daily.. Even though I was quite a bit early on the trade..

You can see on the chart I use a standard bollinger band of 2 standard deviations plus a 2nd BB set at 3 standard deviations. Once price is pushed away from stressing 3 standard deviations it tends to correct.

Also 13 EMA can be a good trend indicator and, depending on risk appetite, can be a good entry area as support / resistance.

Trading the tunnel with Equities on the Daily

---

As I'm sure some of you know I have been working with something of my own version of the tunnel trading system in FX for a little while now.. After seeing the potential for how well it works I became interested in how well it might, or might not, do with equities..

Briefly for anyone who may not know, this system is based on a "tunnel" formed by two EMAs (exponential Moving Averages) the settings for these are 144 and 169 and they form the actual tunnel. I also employ a 13 EMA as a filter and the charts that I will show here also have standard bollinger bands on.

I have actually made 13 equity trades based on these chart settings 7 wins and 3 losses with 3 currently open trades (one symbol was traded twice). But I do not intend to focus much on my actual trades as I took fairly quick, and hence small, profits. This is because I am just now looking into how well this system works, or does not, with equities.

However as a matter of full disclosure here are the trades with entry and exit price..

PM 56.26 - 56.78
SAI 16.38 - 16.94
MO 24.13 - 25.50
EIX 36.07 - 35.92
PCG 46.70 - 45.53
CNP 15.81 - 16.06
FE 37.94 - 37.33
SWY 21.83 - 22.85
TIE 18.68 -
EIX 37.02 - 37.90
RIG 80.35 -
LLY 35.21 - 36.01
BBT 27.57 -

The general idea of trading this is if price is above the tunnel and closes above the 13 EMA then buy. Pretty simple huh?

If price reverses and closes below the tunnel it's best to take the loss and move on to the next trade. Though often price will chop back and forth above and below the tunnel. It remains a valid trade entry as long the two conditions above remain valid. As long as price remains above the 13 EMA one can remain long. A close below is a danger signal that should be taken seriously.

And here are the charts.. I'll let them speak for themselves

By Greg Romey:

There is a common phrase in the entertainment industry that describes when a show has abandoned its core premise and introduced the absurd to revive viewer interest. It is called “Jumping the Shark.” I believe this phrase can be representative of business, as well. Here is my definition of when business has jumped the shark: the point where an industry has reached the markets whose needs were not being met and, to maintain growth, uses methods to create artificial demand.

This has been the case with for-profit secondary education. Many articles have been written about the problems associated with the for-profit model (article1, article2) so there is no need to regurgitate information that has been so well documented. What is important to analyze is this transition from an industry filling a need within a society to one that preys upon it.

The transition to that point does not occur abruptly as when a car runs out of gas or traffic light changes color. It is quite subtle but nonetheless very obvious when looked at from a longer timeframe. It results when the marketing and sales approach is no longer focused on attracting people who qualify as the initial target market. In this case, cuts to the community college system has left many would be students in the lurch and provided a market opportunity to for-profit schools (article, video) . With the influx of new schools and rapid growth of established for-profit institutions, like University of Phoenix, the market has been met … and then some.

Since the initial growth phase is usually quite profitable and attracts investment, continued expansion needs to be maintained for stockholders. The inevitable question is how can profits continue when a market is saturated? It seems that the next step is to approach fringe markets that were never the target market. How about we find a way to put someone with a limited income into a house … or better yet, provide them with a college education that creates debt that never goes away. Who cares if they get foreclosed on or fail to obtain a degree because they are not prepared for college? After all, I got mine.

It is quite easy to prey on the fringe market. These services are generally marketed to include messages about wealth and prosperity – a place the fringe market strives to get to. You too can own a home and become part of the middle class! Get an education that will propel you to a high paying career, for it is the only thing standing in the way of buying all of the goods you see on TV! The feeling of inferiority based on income level is so pervasive that it does not take much marketing savvy to generate interest.

So how do you wring out a sponge that is barely wet? You dip it in the governmental trough until it is fully saturated. You can qualify for a student loan, just fill out these papers and here are some tips on increasing your approval chances. Sound familiar?

The question before us as a society is, do we want this type of capitalism? We have benefited immensely from a capitalistic system that rewards companies for meeting market demands and people who work hard. Yet our economy has evolved and created a chasm between rich and poor, hollowing out the middle class. Money is power and with it comes governmental influence that provides an advantage to corporations and hinders any challenges to the status quo. The consumer base has been depleted, the wells have run dry and interesting new processes have been introduced, like credit default swaps and easy access to college loans, to siphon out the remaining droplets of cash.

The shark has jumped out of the water and we are running for the hills. Maybe we will find the housing market over there also.

Obviously the #government has made all their #plans.. Have you?

Reason Magazine Interviews Oath Keepers Founder Stewart Rhodes

---
IMHO we should ALL support the Oath Keepers - Conservatives, Liberals and everyone else in America
---

When you run down the list of issues the Oath Keepers are worried about, it reads a lot like a bill of particulars from the American Civil Liberties Union. The Oath Keepers don't like warrantless searches. They're upset that the executive branch has claimed the power to classify American citizens as enemy combatants, detain them indefinitely, and try them before military tribunals. They worry that a large-scale terrorist attack similar to 9/11 could lead to the mass detention of Arabs or Muslims, just as Japanese Americans were detained during World War II. They worry about crackdowns on political speech, protest, and freedom of assembly. They are concerned about the Army 3rd Infantry's 1st Brigade Combat Team, a military unit that is training to deploy domestically in response to terrorist attacks or other national emergencies. And yet the group is a frequent target of the left.

Oath Keepers was founded in 2009 by Stewart Rhodes, a Yale Law School graduate and a former staffer for Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). Rhodes, 44, considers himself a constitutionalist and a libertarian. His organization's mission: to persuade America's soldiers and cops to refuse to carry out orders that violate the Constitution. On its website, Oath Keepers lists 10 orders its members will always refuse, including commands to conduct warrantless searches, to disarm the public, blockade an American city, or do anything that infringes "on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances." According to Rhodes, the group has about 30,000 dues-paying members.

Societal Issues

I want to take a few minutes today to talk about cable companies.. However, what I talk about in this post isn't at all ONLY about cable companies. You can find identical behavior in virtually ALL sectors of the economy.. In my own opinion this lack of morality, honesty, integrity is one of the largest problems facing the United States economy and indeed the economies of the entire world..

But on to the cable company..

We have had cable TV for decades.. Many years ago we signed up for a "bundle package".. When/if you purchased 3 separate "services" from the cable company you received a so-called "discount".

So we took the bait and signed up for basic cable, like 62 channels of mostly worthless crap, internet service and something called the "digital cable package".

At any rate years went by and cable TV became more and more worthless as far as enlightenment goes.. While I did and do like the "digital cable" portion of our "contract" with the cable company we realized that of the many "extra" channels it offers (most of which are counted as "channels" even though they are music that doesn't even include video) there were/are a few channels that I appreciated.. Including History International, I used to watch the Military Channel fairly often but not so much anymore, the Science channel has some good programming and I sometime enjoy National Geographic..

But we found ourselves in something of a "cost cutting" mode a few years back.. An effort to simplify our lives to a degree and cut back more to what we needed vs what we wanted..

So one thing that stuck out, to me, was the digital portion of our cable bill.. The "bundle pricing" on three "services" is billed at $30.00 per month per service.. Or $90.00 a month. Plus taxes and fees it comes to about $110.00 a month for TV and internet connection..

So my bright idea was to drop the, seemingly overpriced, "digital" portion of the package. While it contained a few channels we enjoyed it didn't seem to have enough "value" to justify the $30.00 a month expense.

To make a long story short we called the cable company and checked on the impact of dropping the "digital" portion of the package.. And this is the part that really bugs me.. Though we are, purportedly, PAYING $30.00 a month for the privelege of having the digital portion dropping it would lower our monthly cable bill by a whopping $5.00!

So we PAY $30.00 to get it OR we PAY $25.00 NOT to get it!

Also we got the cable internet because it was the fastest connection available and I like/need/want that..

Well.. somewhere along the line that has changed without my knowledge.. For a little while we had the slowest internet connection because the cable company came out with faster connections than ours.. At the time I discovered that they then had 3 speeds.. Slow, faster and fastest.. $30.00, $40.00 and $50.00.. I'm not sure how many they have now.. I should check for this post but I'm not doing it.. I do know for a fact that they have an even slower connection than mine available now for like $20.00 a month which also has limited time allowed on-line.

This infuriates me..

There was a time that companies strived to offer their customers the VERY BEST they had to offer at a fair price..

Now days it seems they want to break their offerings down into multiple "levels" in order to take advantage of the tremendous income inequality that exists in the United States of America..

Corporations seek to use envy, pride, lust, any and every human emotion they possibly can to "drive sales", "drive profits".

This splits society itself into classes of NOT the haves and have nots.. But the "have the mosts", the "have almost but not quite as much as the mosts", the "sort of middle of the road have some expendable cash available", the "living hand to mouth each paycheck", and the "living strictly on credit and not much else because we have no money".

When there was integrity, honesty and morality in business corporations felt it their responsibility to provide to the purchasing public the very best product they had at a competitive price.

In my opinion that model left us long ago..

Seems instead that everything in business now days is more like "Bait and Switch".

And, as I said in the beginning of this post, the cable company is used here merely as an easy and convenient example as far as what passes for so-called "business" in this country.

In my opinion at some point in the evolution of capitalism providing the public with the BEST products available at the lowest, most competitive price possible, was replaced with greed and a pure unadulterated lust for profits..

Witness sub-prime loans in the housing market.. auto loans, payday loans, rent to own, etc..

And not only that..

Every corporation in existence, that I know of, uses teams of lawyers to draw up extremely complex consumer contracts that seek to deny as many rights from the customer as legally possible while at the same time granting the corporation the power to do anything they decide to do with virtually NO consumer recourse at all!

Insurance companies, cell phone companies, cable and satellite providers, credit card issuers.. You name it they ALL do it.. It's ALL plain to see in their own (unfathomable) fine print.. We (the corporation) have the legal right to screw you and rob you blind while YOU have absolutely no recourse at all.. (<-- fine print summed up)

When did this happen? And how do we reverse its harmful, detrimental effects?

Very simply by NOT participating! By NOT buying! By NOT agreeing to horribly biased fine print!

Thanks for your time..
