Pro_2:5 Then shalt thou understand the #fear of the LORD, and find the #knowledge of #God

#Fear is a necessary evil, employed by #God in an attempt to keep mankind on the right(eous) path..

What does it take to put fear into the heart of #humanity?

Simply the power to accomplish "things" that humanity cannot.. ie; miracles, if you like..

An [sufficiently advanced] entity / deity / race who has the ability to accomplish, seemingly, miraculous tasks of the likes we are not capable of mimicking makes us feel inferior / threatened / afraid.

So.. why did the people of the old testament fear God?

Because they personally experienced his glory and power.
