I'm not an "I told you so" sort of guy.
However..
I have been blogging now, for quite some time, about how the leadership of this country no longer has any respect for the "rule of law".
They ignore the Posse Comitatus Act by forming NORTHCOM
NorthCom Denies Troops To Be Used For Crowd Control
and militarizing the police force.
THE #MILITARIZATION OF THE #AMERICAN #POLICE
They forced the legalization of accounting fraud
FASB approves more mark-to-market flexibility
FASB strong-armed into “mark-to-fantasy” accounting
They formed the Council of Governors
Why Has President Obama Established A “Council Of Governors”
They openly accuse our own military veterans of being potential "domestic terrorist" along with Ron Paul supporters & a rather scary list of characteristics that qualifies a person as a potential domestic terrorist.
Ridiculous DHS list: You might be a domestic terrorist if...
I have blogged many times, as you can see here and here, that all the government of the United States is required to do before they can "legally" put a bullet in your head (or a hellfire missile up your a$$) is to.. call you by a different "name". Decide, for whatever reason, to call you something else. Such as an "enemy combatant".
The state has a monopoly on violence
And, as Krauthammer said on FOXNews they have the legal authority to put down an insurgency.. And the authority to kill Americans just as they did in the civil war (the first one.. lol).
Obviously Anwar al-Awlaki was "saying bad things" about the United States so our government "changed his name" from "United States citizen" to "enemy combatant" in order to make his assassination "legal".
My point is NOT that he was a good guy. Only that he WAS an American citizen, like me, like you maybe, so isn't he guaranteed "due process"?
No, and neither are you, if "they" decide to change your name..
All I ask is..
Make sure you know about statism
Make sure you know what words actually mean..
Words mean things | citizens are morally responsible for their support of aggressors, even when such support is required by law
Make sure that you understand that putting down insurgencies / revolutions, martial law and civil wars still happen. They're going on somewhere in the world this very moment. They haven't gone out of style at all.
What? Are we too good, too far above the rest of the world to have such problems here?
As I have always said our own government's reaction to civil dissent won't be much different than that of the Iranian government. They will put down dissent, lock up "trouble makers" and pretend everything is just fine.. Nothing to see here folks..
Amy Goodman: #FBI and the criminalization of #dissent
Are we really expected to trust the government in deciding which Americans should be killed by their decree?
In my humble opinion that whole "trust the government" thing isn't working out too well..
CNN Poll: Trust in government at all time low
Please go watch this FOXNews video segment to observe the first instance that I know of government and corporate media justifying the killing of an American citizen by "calling" him by another name or accusing them of such horrible crimes as incitement (saying mean things..) or being part of an "insurgency".
Civil war is also mentioned.. Is that where we're headed next?
Killing Awlaki debate: American citizen vs enemy combatant

Anyway.. if weird shiite starts hitting the fan someday don't act all shocked, jeeze..
I told you so..
